I’m Jane VanBuren and I teach 5th-grade social studies, reading, and language arts. I grew up in the Detroit area and "discovered" the Upper Peninsula when I attended Northern Michigan University. I’ve been living here for seven years and still have total appreciation for the beauty of the area, the closeness of the community, and the fact that I don’t have to wait 15 minutes to turn left at an intersection. I finished my Master’s degree in Elementary Education this past summer. I enjoy spending time at home with my husband and two young daughters.
