I am Randy Cadeau and I live in the Village of L'Anse. My wife, Laura, and I have three daughters, all in college now. I have been an administrator and teacher in the Baraga County Schools since 1976, and in the L'Anse Area Schools since 1998. In 1975 I received a Bachelor's Degree from NMU with Majors in Science and Math, along with a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from NMU in 1991. I am currently teaching the 6th grade. I'm looking forward to another exciting year. I do send e-mails to parents regularly with classroom information and assignments. Mrs. Collins is the school and public library director. Mrs. Collins is a lifelong resident of L'Anse having attended Sacred Heart School and L'Anse Area School, graduating in 1970. Her teaching career began in 1988 at
Sacred Heart School, and she began teaching at L'Anse Area Schools in 1995. Until the 2008-09 school year, she taught classes in the Middle and High School. In that year she became the School/Public Library Director. Her hobbies include lighthouse preservation, reading, cross-country skiing, quilting, spending time at camp, and watching Green Bay Packer football games with her husband on Sunday afternoons. She has two married sons. Jim and Chris, and five grandchildren.

My name is Emily Gasperich and I am VERY excited to be starting my teaching career at C.J. Sullivan Elementary School. I am originally from Kingsford, Michigan where I graduated from high school in 2004. I received my Bachelors of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Northern Michigan University and am currently pursuing my Masters from there with a focus on being a Reading Specialist.

I have family from L'Anse so I have come to be able to appreciate the beauty and uniqueness the area has to offer its residents. In my spare time I like to ski/snowboard, swim and cook. Plase don't hesitate to contact me for any reason.

My husband's name is Tom. We have 4 children.

Language Arts and a Special Education Endorsement.
In 2009 I received my Masters Degree in the area of

Hello. My name is Elizabeth Lloyd and I am the sixth grade English teacher here at C.J. Sullivan. This is my second year here, and my second year teaching. I am originally from Colon, MI whre I graduated from high school in 2003. I received my Bachelors in Elementary Education from Finlandia University and I will be working towards my Masters soon.
I currently live in Hubbell with my husband, Tyler and my son, Mason. I am excited and looking foward to what the school year will unfold.

Hello! My name is Kristin Marczak. I am currently teaching First Grade at L'Anse Area Schools. This is my third year teaching and I am very excited to be a part of such a great school!

I am originally from Bergland, Michigan and graduated from Ewen-Trout Creek High School in 2002. I then attended Northern Michigan University where I received my Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education in December 2006.

I currently reside in L'Anse with my husband Tim. I enjoy taking advantage of all of this area has to offer. Outside of school, I enjoy photography, sports, and being at home with my husband, two cats, and our dog Magnum.

Hello! My name is Kimberly Payne and this is my first year teaching at C.J. Sullivan Elementary School. I am one of the second grade teachers.

I am originally from Crystal Falls, Michigan and graduated from Forest Park High School in 2004. After high school, I attended Finlandia University for two years and graduated from Spring Arbor University in 2009. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education, Integrated Science, and Language Arts.

My free time is spent reading, kayaking, running, and spending time with my family and friends.

I attended Northern Michigan University, where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Special Education with an emphasis in teaching students with Emotional Impairments. I am currently teaching K-4 Special Education in the C.J. Sullivan Elementary School. This is my first year in the elementary school and I am enjoying it very much. When I am not in school, I enjoy spending time with my family and doing outdoor activities.

Brian Perry is a 4th grade teacher at C.J. Sullivan Elementary School. During switch time Mr. Perry teaches math and writing. After school he works at volleyball matches. Mr. Perry graduated from Grand Valley State University Honors College in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and an Elementary Education minor. He is working toward his Masters Degree in Education Administration at Northern Michigan University. He taught 6th grade at Stangel Elementary in Manitowoc, Wisconsin before coming to L'Anse. The '11-12 school year will be Mr. Perry's 5th year in L'Anse.

I grew up south of Marquette near Skandia, graduated from Gwinn High School, and received my degree in Elementary Education from Northern Michigan University. I began my teaching career with the Tahquamenon Area Schools teaching Title I for one year and then First Grade for four years.

From there, I taught Fourth Grade for one year and then Third Grade at the South Lyon Community Schools, downstate. After that I taught a combined class of Fifth and Sixth Grades at St. Mary's Catholic School in Pine City, MN before moving back to the U.P. I was the principal of Sacred Heart School in L'Anse for five years, before being hired by the L'Anse Area Schools to teach Third Grade.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, baking, and being outdoors in all seasons with my husband and my dog.

Having grown up in the western end of the Upper Peninsula, I moved to Alston when I met my husband. I am a first grade teacher. I graduated with honors from Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I majored in Math and minored in Science. I also have a Master of Arts in Eeducation with a major in Elementary Education. My courses focused on Language Arts. I am certified to teach from kindergarten through fifth grade in all areas, as well as math an science in sixth through eighth grade.

My name is Helen Stenvig. I live in Pelkie with my husband, John, and beagle, Ole. We have three grown children, all graduates of MTU in Houghton. I graduated from MTU with a degree in Biology, and then worked for several agencies, including the MI DNR Fisheries. Later, I returned to school at NMU and received my elementary teaching certificate. I began teaching at L'Anse, and am currently the 5th grade Science teacher. I am a great advocate for environmental and outdoor education. I enjoy gardening, being outdoors, and spending time with family.

I’m Jane VanBuren and I teach 5th-grade Social Studies, Reading, and Language Arts. I grew up in the Detroit area and "discovered" the Upper Peninsula when I attended Northern Michigan University. I’ve been living here for seven years and still have total appreciation for the beauty of the area, the closeness of the community, and the fact that I don’t have to wait 15 minutes to turn left at an intersection. I finished my Master’s degree in Elementary Education this past summer. I enjoy spending time at home with my husband and two young daughters.

Aaron VanDusen started teaching at L'Anse in fall of 2005. She graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Music Education. Aaron's primary instrument is the trumpet, but she does play all instruments. Aaron will be teaching K-5 General, Junior High Band (grades 6 and 7), and Symphony Band (grades 8-12) this year. She is also the director of the Marching and and Pep Band for the football and basketball games. Aaron lives in L'Anse with her husband (John) and enjoys bike riding,reading,and playing trumpet with the Keweenaw Symphony Orchestra. She is also the President of District XIV for MSBOA (Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association).

My name is Darrin Voskuhl. I am the Elementary Physical Education teacher here at C.J. Sullivan. I am looking forward to working with all the kids and getting to know each and every one of them.
I was born and raised here in L'Anse, Michigan and graduated from L'Anse High School in 1999. I attended Northland College in Ashland, WI and graduated in 2004 with a major in Elementary Education and Physical Education for grades K-12.

My name is Risa Williamson. I am the K-8 School Guidance Counselor for C.J. Elementary on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. I grew up in Green Bay, WI. I received a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in coaching through the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. I moved up to the UP to work in the mental health field. I fell in love with this area and it suits me well. I made the switch to education when I worked at the ISD as a Behavioral Consultant. At that time, I went to NMU to pursue my Master's degree in Education - School Guidance Counseling. I have over 7 years experience with School Guidance Counseling and provide classroom lessons, individual counseling and small group counseling. During my free time, I love spending time with my daughter, golfing, camping, yoga, and relaxing. My husband is a Houghton native and we have one daughter and one dog. We live in Houghton.

Hello! I am Ariane Yoder. This is my third year as a Kindergarten Teacher at C.J. Sullivan, and my ninth year total of teaching. I have taught 6th, 4th, and Preschool in past years. I love Kindergarten because we are so busy each day learning new things! It is very rewarding to teach students to become readers! The students are very excited to come to the "big" school!
