SUBSTITUTES: Megan Tucker is in for Kristin Marczak

Thank you to the L.A.S. Staff for donations to the Keweenaw Shrine Club. Proceeds will be used for transportation expenses. The Shiners’ currently transport thirty children from our local area and 300 from the Upper Peninsula to a Shiners’ Hospital in the United States. Thank you again ~ Keweenaw Bay Shrine Club.

VALENTINES FOR VETERANS: Our 5th-graders, with help from the “American Pride” project, are collecting donations for “Valentines for Veterans” care packages to send to Veterans facilities in Marquette, Grand Rapids, Saginaw, and Milwaukee. If you are able to donate any of the suggested items (candy, socks, Kleenex, word searches/crossword puzzles, air fresheners, hats/gloves, music, mini-flashlights, playing cards, pouches for holding small items to hang on walkers/beds/wheelchairs, magnifying glasses, slippers, chap stick, window decals), please send or drop them off in any of the 5th-grade classrooms or the elementary office. Please feel free to donate anything not mentioned on the list that you feel a Veteran would appreciate or enjoy. Monetary donations will also be accepted to help defray the shipping costs.
Our 5th-graders will package and mail “Valentines for Veterans” on Wednesday, February 8th.
Thank you for your help in honoring and supporting our Veterans!


•Students in grades 3rd -8th who go to the Mount Ripley after ski school program on Monday nights may ride the Baraga Bus. The bus will leave from Baraga School at 4:30 p.m. sharp and will return at 8:00 p.m. Students who plan to ride the bus need to be dropped off & picked up from Baraga School. It is free! If you plan to ride the bus please contact the office or Ms. Santti. There is also still time to sign up, it’s never too late! See Ms. Santti if you are interested in going.

•Elementary coffee supply is getting low – donations would be appreciated.

•Star Lab will be here beginning Monday February 6th.

•Family Engineering & Math Night @ C.J. Sullivan Tuesday February 14th 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.
